Highlights to follow today

Unpacking the urban climate finance journey: Linking policy and planning to a pipeline of bankable projects

Despite large city-focused climate financing available, there is a shortfall in bankable project applications being developed to leverage the funding. This session will discuss the development process of city-led sustainability projects in Africa, the improvement areas, and the financial instruments that must adapt to be suitable for sustainable urban projects.

Investing in the Net Zero Potential of Cities

Convened by 3Ci and C40, this session will attract the interest of investors who want to partner with cities early on to develop marketable propositions; and cities and governments who need to work towards innovative approaches that meet their climate and social equality commitments but that will need to go beyond the public purse.

Driving innovation in response to the climate emergency

An expanded climate innovation agenda that centers human needs, leverages emerging technologies, and introduces new approaches to governance and finance is needed to expand and expedite climate action. This session draws upon targeted interventions from leading experts to explore the role of international organizations in defining, operationalizing, and scaling this agenda for ambitious climate action.

Virtual Connectivity Announcement:
We are continuing to experience connectivity issues that impact the quality of the virtual streaming, recording and interpretation. We hope that this will improve now that the UNFCCC high level program is over, however we do not have a guarantee that it will be better. This issue is out of our hands and has been raised to the venue. The problem has been experienced across pavilions and is not unique to the LGMA Multilevel Action Pavilion. We will continue to connect with all virtual speakers and interpreters hoping that the issue is soon resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding!
