You are invited to the Earth Dialogues for Climate & Finance
Today, on behalf of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition of the Government of Ecuador under Minister Gustavo Manrique and Regions of Climate Action (R20), Capital Cities (CC35) and Green Cross United Kingdom, attendees are invited to the Earth Dialogues for Climate & Finance.
This initiative is part of the two High Level days of COP26 under the umbrella of the World Leaders Summit.
The discussion will focus on how new financing instruments for conservation and decarbonization at all levels of government can accelerate the goals of the Paris Agreement in its binding phase and how Latin America and Africa should improve their positions in the global carbon market prices.
The event promises concrete announcements that are part of the most important multilevel COP26.
The first Global Subnational Climate Fund of $750M led by Regions of Climate Action (R20) with support from Pegasus Capital, IUCN and Gold Standard and the financial support from the Green Climate Fund.
The first Carbon Credits with Public-Private Contracts for over $200M at the subnational level led by Global Carbon Parks with support from other organizations.
The only country on the planet with all the signatures of the 158 local governments (Dominican Republic) that signed their commitments in Race to Zero under the Alcaldes por el Clima initiative led by Capital Cities CC35 with support from other organizations.

Coinciding with the World Leaders’ Summit at COP 26, the first session of the #Time4MultilevelAction High Level Dialogue convened with the aim of ensuring multilevel action becomes the new normal in the next phase of the Paris Agreement, as the “beacon of hope for ambitious action in the age of climate emergency.”

First Minister of Scotland will convene a panel of female heads of government from around the world to discuss the gendered impacts of climate change.
This event will showcase the work of the Glasgow Climate Dialogues through the findings of the recently published Communique.
The discussion will focus on why an action plan for improved participation at COPs is needed for Global South voices to be heard on adaptation, Loss and Damage and a Just transition.
