COP25: We're halfway there.

Sunday was a day of rest before the second half COP25, so we're taking a moment to review where we are. This week, the ministers and heads of state will arrive, kicking the negotiations into high gear. The halls are starting to get a bit more crowded, with recognizable faces on the way or already here.

If you find an extra fifty-five minutes in your week, you can get the low-down on the negotiations from the IISD halftime show podcast. Only have a few minutes? Here's another excellent break-down.

Earlier today we saw two Mayors, Mayor Geraldo Júlio from Recife, Brasil, and Mayor Bill Peduto from Pittsburgh in the US, take the stage to discuss NDCs in the time of climate emergency. They reinforced their common role as vocal adversaries to the policies of their national governments. We are looking forward to even more local leadership throughout the week, from Tokyo to Campeche, Taoyuan City to Turku, at this continuing COP25.
