Tokyo Metropolitan Government

Cities in Japan have experienced rapid urbanisation and economic growth in the past and have accumulated policy experience and technologies that could be useful elsewhere. The Forum provides an opportunity to discuss policy options among Asian city leaders, government officials, international agencies and the business community.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is pleased to announce the hosting of the Tokyo Forum for Clean City & Clear Sky, an international conference on the environment. This forum will focus on several issues that major cities around the world are grappling with: waste management, sustainable resource management and air pollution. These issues were chosen in light of the global commitment toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Representatives from major cities all over the world will meet at this forum to share knowledge and information about effective policies, and discuss solutions to create a sustainable urban environment. In addition, TMG will introduce the city’s advanced environmental policies and technologies as well as promote Tokyo’s allure as the host city of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.
