Climate Change work must start in our cities
“Welcome to the Era of Sustainable Development” Armin Laschet, the President Minister of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany welcomed local and regional leaders to the Summit. He also emphasized that “Local and regional governments will need to shoulder much or even most of the actions and schemes to curb climate change”. Cities and regions all have their own stories to tell about the consequences of climate change and the shift to a sustainable world has to begin in our own backyards. Change starts with us and we need to work with with civil society, science and business groups and citizens.
