Citizens in Seoul create real climate change

Park Won Soon, Mayor, Seoul, Republic of Korea: ICLEI President; Member of the Board of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy shared that Seoul is focused on real changes that come from citizens. When citizens come together in solidarity, they create real change. This has been demonstrated by the candlelight protest in Seoul. Climate change is no different.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government realizes that participation is a catalyst for action. 20 000 citizens have already installed solar PV in their homes. Marking the transition of citizens from energy consumers to energy producers. Seoul will soon be announced as a city of sunlight and will produce 1 GW of solar energy by 2022.
